As part of their continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Commercial Property & Casualty Underwriter to join their Leeds office as well as other UK offices.
As a Commercial P&C Underwriter, you will take ownership of underwriting risks across property, casualty, and combined commercial lines. You will work closely with brokers to deliver tailored solutions, balancing technical decision-making with strong commercial acumen. This role offers the chance to underwrite mid to large-sized accounts, contribute to profitable growth, and help shape regional underwriting strategy.
Key Responsibilities:- Underwrite and manage a portfolio of commercial P&C risks in line with company appetite, underwriting guidelines, and authority limits.
- Develop and maintain strong trading relationships with brokers, focusing on quality service and sustainable growth.
- Assess risk exposures, review submissions, and structure comprehensive insurance solutions.
- Negotiate terms, pricing, and coverage to achieve profitable outcomes.
- Contribute to regional business development by identifying opportunities for new and renewal business.
- Support the wider underwriting team by sharing knowledge, mentoring junior colleagues, and contributing to best practices.
- Ensure compliance with internal governance, FCA regulations, and relevant market standards.
- Proven underwriting experience in commercial property and casualty lines (mid-market or corporate level preferred).
- Strong technical knowledge and risk assessment skills.
