Want to work at one of the most magnificent hotels in Devon? This hotel is an iconic landmark and retreat, positioned on a wildly beautiful and secluded tidal Burgh Island. A career at Burgh Island is unique and is not for the faint-hearted. Island life brings with it several challenges in terms of location and working hours. We are looking for a receptionist to develop their career further by joining a wonderful team of individuals, here at Burgh Island!
Requirements for the role:
- Manage check in and check-out process.
- Manage the PMS system (Guestline), including room allocations.
- Answer the phone, take reservations and deal with any enquiries.
- Prepare a catering list with important information and make sure kitchen and front of house are aware.
- Prepare daily reports as required.
- Manage guest payments, invoices, and receipts.
- Reconcile petty cash.
- Manage a comprehensive hand over to the following shift.
- Help guests with local enquiries, bookings, tickets, and travel arrangements.
- Report maintenance items to the maintenance logbook.
- Responsible for all health & safety during shift.
- Prepare welcome drinks for arriving guests.
- All future deposits are processed and recorded.
- All pre-charges are processed and recorded.
- Responsible for guest security and ensuring their belongings are labelled correctly.
- Assist front of house as necessary.
- Ensure all allergies/intolerances are marked on the catering list and that the F&B team is aware of it.
General duties:
- Assist with other functions as necessary.
- Maintain register of visiting maintenance/service companies.
- Report accidents or incidents promptly and correctly.
- Be vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour in or around the hotel.
- Handle emergencies if necessary, during shift.
- Comply with all Reception related SOPs.
- You are expected to be presentable at all times.
- Make sure there is always someone at the reception at all operational times.
