Job: Smart Meter Electronic Device Installer (UK-Wide) Salary: to £60k + company vehicle Location: client sites across UK requiring frequent nationwide travel This company is at the forefront of sustainable innovation, combining blockchain technology and renewable energy solutions. Their unique smart meter devices enable users to monitor energy usage efficiently while contributing to a greener future. Due to continued expansion, they are seeking a certified Electrician to install and maintain their smart meter electronic devices across the UK. Their ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This role involves nationwide travel, providing first-line support, troubleshooting device issues, conducting installer training, and ensuring quality control. Key Responsibilities Installation: Install smart meter electronic devices safely and efficiently at various client locations nationwide. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to device performance and connectivity. First-Line Support: Serve as the initial point of contact for technical queries and support during installations. Training: Train new installers on the correct installation processes and device operations. Quality Control: Monitor and assess installation quality, ensuring company standards are upheld. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installations, issues encountered, and resolutions provided. Observation: Proactively identify and escalate observations or events that need to be considered or assessed by the technical, customer support and sales teams Key Requirements Certified Electrician (UK): Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds 2365/2391). Technical Aptitude: Proficient in working with IoT electronic devices, including installation and troubleshooting, Wi-Fi fault finding including configuring Wi-Fi routers and awareness of IP and MAC addresses and ports and simple firewalls, IP networking knowledge including ping, tracert and preferably TCP/UDP and RS232/RS485 awareness including Baud rate and parity. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify, analyse, and resolve technical issues effectively. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication to interact with clients and team members. Attention to Detail: Ensuring all installations meet safety and performance standards. Flexibility: Willingness to travel extensively across the UK. Driving License: Full, clean UK driving license.
