This KTP project aims to drive growth and improve profitability at Eye-Docs by increasing NHS and private patient numbers, delivering more services through lower-cost staff, and improving patient pathways.

The recruited candidate will lead business growth by introducing new patient pathways, creating a shared-care model with NHS hospitals and optical practices, and expanding the referral network. This shared-care model allows NHS patients access to Eye-Docs’ top surgeons while enabling optical practices to increase revenue by providing post-surgical assessments.

This role is ideal for candidates with a BSc/Masters in a health-related subject (Optometry, Pharmacy, Nursing) or Business and Management (Health Management, Sales and Marketing, Operations, Innovation).

As a KTP Associate, you will develop project management, stakeholder engagement, and strategic delivery skills within an innovative business, broadening your career prospects.

Essential experience:

  • Engaging and influencing external stakeholders to grow business or health networks
  • Managing stakeholders and clients within a network
  • Working in cross-disciplinary project teams
  • Leading strategic change in dynamic business environments
  • Demonstrating leadership and mature communication

Desirable experience:

  • Applying skills in commercial environments, including business model design
  • Developing clinical pathways and patient journeys
  • Working in commercial or government healthcare settings, knowledge of shared care
  • Evidence of writing skills, such as published papers or higher degrees

Key duties:

  • Understand Eye-Docs’ business priorities related to patient recruitment and management
  • Develop and grow the shared-care business model, recruiting primary eye-care providers who refer patients
  • Create innovative co-management treatment pathways to improve patient care
  • Develop patient education on shared-care pathways and treatment options
  • Assist with optometrist education through CPD events and engagement
  • Support evidence base development via post-surgical data analysis
  • Collaborate with Eye-Docs’ clinical team to implement the project
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and contribute to academic publications

You will work with Prof Shehzad Naroo, Prof Prasanta Dey, Dr Yang Zhao, Eye-Docs Senior Management, and the IUK Knowledge Transfer Adviser.

Location:Primarily based at Eye-Docs Ltd offices in Solihull, with access to Aston University facilities in Birmingham. Travel to clients may be required.
