Here you will always find state of the art ten‑pin bowling lanes, with our venues being centred around this game – hence the name! A wide variety of other gaming is also available, from Shuffleboard to American Pool, Tech Darts to Karaoke and much more! Roxy Lanes also attracts a family audience, allowing under 18s in during the daytime accompanied by an adult. Live sports are also available throughout all Roxy Lanes venues, showing key sporting events through Sky Sports and BT Sports.

Started by 2 brothers 13 years ago, falling under the Professionals At Play umbrella, we now operate 28 sites nationwide with many more to come! Our mission is to bring the playground to the bar.

What we’d expect from you:

  • In a Bar Manager we want a dynamic, hands‑on leader, that drives the bar operations in our competitive socialising venue.
  • This role combines operational excellence, creative drinks development, and team leadership to deliver a high‑energy, guest‑focused bar experience.
  • You’ll be responsible for ensuring great drinks, great service, and great vibes that complement the fun and social nature of the venue.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily bar operations, ensuring speed, quality, and consistency of service.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and presentation behind the bar.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health & safety, and responsible alcohol service.
  • Manage opening and closing procedures and stock checks.
  • Recruit, train, and motivate bartenders, barbacks, and team leaders.
  • Deliver training on cocktails, product knowledge, and upselling techniques.
  • Resolve guest issues quickly and professionally, ensuring positive experiences.
  • Manage stock ordering, storage, and rotation to minimise waste and maximise profitability.
  • Conduct regular stocktakes, tracking variances and investigating discrepancies.
  • Monitor bar KPIs including GP% (gross profit), stock loss, and revenue per cover.
  • Act as the senior manager on duty, taking ownership of the venue’s overall performance during shifts.

Job specifics:

  • 45hr working week across 5 shifts
  • It is expected that you will be available to work weekends and public holidays
  • Expected to have a reliable commute to work
  • Managing a large team of up to 50 staff members
  • Reporting KPI’s weekly, monthly, and quarterly to the Area Operations Manager
  • Liaising with all departments of the Professionals At Play business including marketing, sales, finance, operations and maintenance.
