PVS Nottingham | £35,000-£40,000 per year, depending on experience
We're looking for an experienced Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester to join our busy independent garage in Nottingham.
We're looking for someone who enjoys a varied workshop role - solving problems, carrying out repairs and, ideally, MOT testing too.
If you're qualified to carry out MOTs, that's a big plus. You may find yourself carrying out MOTs in the morning and getting stuck into repairs and servicing in the afternoon.
If you're an excellent Vehicle Technician but don't currently hold your MOT Tester qualification, don't let that put you off. For the right person, we're happy to support and fund MOT Tester training.
The role
- MOT testing and retesting, if qualified
- Vehicle servicing and routine maintenance
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs
- Brake, suspension and steering work
- Clutches and cambelts
- Exhaust and emissions-related repairs
- Electrical fault finding and diagnostics
- MOT preparation and remedial work
- General mechanical repairs and maintenance
- Using diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve vehicle faults
- Recording work accurately on digital handsets
- Working efficiently while maintaining high standards of work
- Keeping your work area clean, safe and organised
About you
- Has solid experience as a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic
- Has strong all-round mechanical knowledge
- Is confident diagnosing faults and finding solutions
- Takes pride in their work and doesn't cut corners
- Can work independently and take responsibility for their jobs
- Is reliable, organised and professional
- Is a good communicator and team player
- Is happy working in a busy independent garage where every day can be different
MOT Tester qualification is an advantage but isn't essential. For the right technician, we'll support and fund MOT Tester training.
