An opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a progressive consultancy firm in the Chesterfield area on a contract basis. You will join a very friendly team, where you can use your creativity and design skills and really make a difference. The business has been established since 2012 and their mission is to drive growth in the business. This really is the best time to be joining a highly profitable business with ambitious plans for the future. They are offering an attractive rate of £40-45 per hour and remote working/hybrid model. This will be an initial 4 month contract, with the potential to extend.

Summary: Primarily to design and detail plant layout, bespoke systems and equipment from proposal to commissioning. The role includes basic aspects of project management. This position is hybrid: primarily home based with occasional office and site visits when necessary.

Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer:

  • Design from concept to detail.
  • Production of detailed design documentation, including 3D models, 2D sketches, 2D general arrangements, 2D detailed engineering manufacturing drawings, P&ID, schematics, material lists, process, and mechanical design calculations, suitable for design appraisal by Client, Manufacture, and Installation by 3rd parties.
  • Production of supporting documentation, user manual and mechanical certification dossier.
