Responsibilities of the Workshop Engineer:

  • Servicing and repair of material handling equipment.
  • Ordering of parts as efficiently as possible & ensuring all stock levels/movement records are accurate & correct
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately & within the stipulated time period & with the relevant order numbers
  • Manage own work-in-progress
  • Maintain a safe working environment & work in a safe manner
  • Report any unsafe practices or potential hazards immediately
  • To maintain familiarisation with policies & procedures & adhere to these. E.g. IT Policy, absence policy, etc.
  • Attend training courses to maintain up-to-date knowledge of equipment

Requirements of the Workshop Engineer:

  • NVQ Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance, Plant or similar is essential
  • Served full apprenticeship
  • Agricultural Engineers and Plant Fitters and FLT Engineers, workshop engineers or Field Service Engineers
  • Technical experience in Engines, Electrics, Hydraulics and Diagnostics is compulsory.
