Service & Operations Director

I am pleased to present a new opportunity for a Service & Operations Director, who will lead on shaping the future of the Service division. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will have the opportunity to develop long-term strategies and lead the geographical growth of the Service offering. You will be joining an ambitious family business who has been leading the Entrance Solutions industry for 30 years.

An impressive salary of up to £80k is on offer with some flexibility depending on the individual's experience, along with a 20% bonus. To complement this salary, the role also provides a company vehicle or allowance, a Health Cash Plan and Life Assurance, company pension, and holiday entitlement increasing with length of service. The role is based in the Wirral area with some travel to support business needs.

The Service & Operations Director will inspire, lead, and develop an established team of 40 people, including 4 team Leaders, 1 Service Manager, and 1 Commercial Manager. This is an office-based role 4 days per week, with 1 day working from home. In the future, this role will develop to be part of the Board.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the long-term strategy for the Service division.
• Take responsibility for service delivery, profitability and customer satisfaction.
• Lead and develop the Service Manager, Project Management team and Engineering Team Leaders.
• Build strong relationships with key clients and act as the senior escalation point.
• Lead the geographical growth and future development of the division.
• Identify opportunities for service improvement, innovation and sustainable growth.
• Oversee service contracts, budgets, forecasts and departmental targets.
• Improve engineer productivity, response times, first-time fix rates and PPM performance.
• Use technology, systems and operational data to improve efficiency and customer service.
• Maintain high standards of engineering quality, health and safety, and customer care.
• Contribute to wider business strategy and decision-making as a member of the Board.
• Work closely with Commercial, Finance, Purchasing, SHEQ and the wider operational teams.

Key requirements:

• You will flourish in this role if you have senior leadership experience within service, maintenance, or field-based engineering operations.
• Ideally, you will bring experience in the Auto or Industrial Door sector, however, candidates from HVAC, Lifts, and Fire & Security will also be considered.
• Previously lead and developed field-based service operations.
• Experienced working at a strategic level.
• Strong commercial awareness, budget and profitability responsibility.
• Developed and implemented operational or service strategy.
• Managed service contracts with SLAs and KPIs.
• Previously managed teams and have a supportive and accountable leadership style.
• A full UK driving licence.
