The Company
We are a large, well-established organisation operating nationwide, delivering automatic and industrial door solutions to major retail outlets and distribution centres. Due to continued growth, we are looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to strengthen our commercial team.
The Job
The Estimator will be responsible for producing accurate and competitive quotations for automatic and industrial door projects. This role requires strong technical understanding, commercial awareness, and the ability to interpret specifications and work confidently "between the lines" when reviewing tender documents and client requirements. Door Engineers with proven experience in estimating and quoting work are also encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely quotations for automatic and industrial door projects
- Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to assess scope and costs
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, surveyors, and internal teams to clarify requirements
- Price materials, labour, access equipment, and associated costs
- Identify risks, exclusions, and value engineering opportunities
- Support project handovers from estimating to operations
- Maintain strong commercial awareness to ensure profitability and competitiveness
Essential Experience & Skills
- Proven experience as an Estimator within automatic and/or industrial doors
- Strong background in quoting works and interpreting specifications
- Ability to work independently and read between the lines of tender information
- Solid understanding of door systems, installation processes, and industry standards
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
Desirable
- Experience working with major retail outlets or distribution centres
- Previous experience as a Door Engineer with estimating or quoting responsibilities
