The Role
As a Field Service Engineer, you\’ll cover the Wakefield to Doncaster area by servicing a wide range of material handling equipment – from pallet trucks to automated systems. You\’ll diagnose faults, carry out preventative maintenance, and ensure our customers receive a top‑tier service.
Ideally we\’re looking for an engineer from the Forklift Industry or MHE. Although we will consider agricultural, roadside recovery or plant.
Responsibilities
- To undertake the repair & maintenance of industrial, agricultural and warehousing trucks and ancillary equipment, ensuring maximum profitability and return.
- To carry out fault diagnosis to identify reported breakdowns.
- To ensure all damage and faults are highlighted to customers and recorded accurately on appropriate documentation.
- To provide professional, efficient & responsive service support to customers by maintaining & repairing materials handling equipment to the highest standard whilst always observing Health and Safety regulations.
- To accurately complete all paperwork required within the role including servicing sheets, breakdown reports, accident reports, timesheets, quotes, etc. in a timely fashion.
- To work closely with the sales team, informing them of any potential leads and to participate in site surveys and site meetings as and when required.
Requirements
- Experienced engineer from the Forklift or MHE industry or agricultural, plant or roadside recovery.
- Level 2 minimum.
- Proficient in reading both electrical and IC truck wiring diagrams.
- Able to strip and reassemble a hydraulic valve bank, cylinder and gear pumps.
- Able to interpret test information for main, forward/reverse clutch, torque converter pressure and carry out a full stall test.
