Engineering Trainer in Hertford

My client is looking for an Engineering Trainer with extensive hands-on experience across the door industry, including automatic doors, industrial doors, gates and barriers. This is a role where your technical knowledge and experience will be genuinely valued - you'll be responsible for passing that knowledge on, helping engineers develop their skills and ensuring they have the technical capability and confidence to succeed in the field. As an Engineering Trainer, you'll play a key role in the development of engineers across the business. You'll be responsible for: Delivering practical and classroom-based training to engineers at different levels of experience. Training engineers across automatic doors, industrial doors, gates, barriers and associated equipment. Assessing engineers' existing technical knowledge and identifying areas for development. Creating and completing individual training and development plans. Building structured training programmes based around each engineer's experience, skill level and development requirements. Planning and scheduling training sessions across the UK. Providing ongoing technical advice, guidance and support to engineers. Coaching engineers through fault finding, installation, servicing, maintenance and repair techniques. Helping engineers develop their understanding of manufacturers' products, systems, legislation, standards and safe working practices. Working closely with Hiring Managers and Service Managers to understand the training requirements of new and existing engineers. Monitoring progress and providing feedback on engineers' development. Identifying where additional training, coaching or technical support is required. Keeping training records and ensuring development plans remain up to date. Supporting the wider engineering function by sharing your knowledge and experience.You'll need to be an experienced door engineer who has real-world, hands-on knowledge of the industry. Ideally, you'll have worked extensively across multiple product types and be confident diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues. To be considered for this Engineering Trainer role, you must/could be: A highly experienced Senior Door Engineer who is ready to move away from being on the tools every day. Have considerable experience as an engineer and naturally become the person colleagues turn to for technical advice. An Engineering Manager who wants to move into a role focused specifically on training and developing engineers. An experienced trainer who has worked within the automatic and industrial door industry. Someone who has previously delivered training either in the field, in a workshop or within a classroom environment.Most importantly, you'll need the communication skills and patience to teach others effectively. Be technically strong and being able to explain a problem, demonstrate a solution and help someone else understand it is what will make you successful in this position. The majority of training will be delivered from the company's Hertfordshire office, although you'll also travel nationally to train engineers across the UK.
