Test Engineer in England

We are seeking a Test & Validation Engineer to join a leading technology company specialising in advanced electro-optical systems in Andover, Hampshire. In this role, you will ensure that systems meet stringent quality and performance standards through comprehensive testing and validation. You will play a key part in acceptance testing, fault diagnosis and supporting customer demonstrations both in the UK and internationally. This is a full-time office based role offering a salary of 38,000 and you will need to be eligible for UK Security Clearance.

Responsibilities of this Test & Validation Engineer role:

• Perform test and validation of complex electro-optical systems.
• Conduct acceptance testing of deliverable systems prior to customer delivery.
• Diagnose, report, and assist in resolving hardware faults at system and PCB level.
• Provide technical support for system demonstrations and customer enquiries.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure product quality and reliability.
• Occasional travel to customer sites in the UK and overseas.

Qualifications & Experience required for this Test & Validation Engineer role:

Essential:

• Proven experience in testing and verification of electronic systems.
• Strong hardware debugging and component-level testing skills.
• Excellent technical problem-solving and repair capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.

Desirable:

• Knowledge of optical/video systems and related standards.
• Experience with video systems and protocols.
• Familiarity with software development in C#.
• Ability to produce detailed technical reports.
