Duties and Responsibilities:
Working within the Electrical/Electronic Systems team, the EMC Engineer/Senior Engineer role is responsible for ensuring electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) compliance of electronic systems. This role involves collaboration with Component Engineers, Test & Development teams, Systems Engineering (MBSE), cross-functional vehicle project teams, suppliers, and the Quality department to ensure global EMC compliance is achieved across all products.
Senior Engineers are expected to bring a higher level of experience, provide mentorship, lead review meetings, perform peer reviews and sign-offs, and may be called upon to deputise for Lead Engineers when necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the technical lead for EMC-related matters.
- Develop and manage EMC specifications and documentation.
- Ensure that components conform to applicable EMC standards and requirements.
- Maintain the component EMC database in collaboration with Component Engineers.
- Oversee EMC test plans with suppliers to align with stage gate deliverables and support reviews as needed.
- Establish and maintain best practice procedures for EMC-related activities.
- Create and report EMC compliance KPIs to leadership on a regular (monthly) basis for each project.
- Support component hardware reviews with suppliers when required.
- Promote EMC awareness across the organisation and provide training for new team members.
- Chair an internal EMC working group with key stakeholders to ensure the robustness of the EMC strategy.
- Support full-vehicle EMC testing alongside the Test & Development team when needed.
