Location: Newcastle

I'm working with a nationally recognised Approved Inspector who are growing their technical team. They're looking for a Building Control Surveyor to take ownership of residential projects - typically up to 11 metres in height - working closely with clients from plan check to final certification.

What you'll be doing:

  • Reviewing residential development plans for Building Regulation compliance
  • Conducting site inspections and maintaining detailed records
  • Issuing initial notices, certificates, and final sign-off
  • Managing defect resolution and ensuring all regulatory obligations are met
  • Supporting assistant and trainee surveyors as a mentor
  • Contributing to consistent service delivery and strong client relationships

What you'll need:

  • BSR Registered Building Inspector - Level 2 (essential)
  • Chartered membership with RICS, CABE, or CIOB
  • Proven experience in plan appraisal and site inspection (ideally residential)
  • Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach
  • A solid understanding of Building Regs, QA systems, and inspection standards
