A Technology Manufacturer based in Andover, Hampshire is looking to recruit an Embedded Software Engineer to develop complex embedded control and sensing systems. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate in the development of complex systems including development and design, implementation and installation. This role is on site full time in Andover and offers a competitive starting salary and benefits.

As Embedded Software Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing software for microprocessor-based embedded systems and supporting Windows applications
  • Contributing to full lifecycle development including requirements analysis, concept creation, system design, implementation and installation
  • Designing and implementing real-time closed-loop control and sensing applications for on-board and SoC devices
  • Working with embedded targets such as Zynq 7000 series SoCs, TI MSP430 processors and Renesas RX series devices
  • Creating GUI-based control and test applications to support embedded system development
  • Developing Windows applications in C# using Microsoft Visual Studio

Key skills and experience needed for the Embedded Software Engineer:

  • Strong background in developing software for embedded systems
  • Proven ability to write high-quality C code, with a minimum of two years' experience
  • Hands-on experience using Microsoft Visual Studio for Windows application development, ideally with C#
  • Practical experience in hardware-level debugging and component-level testing
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and debugging skills
  • Degree in Computing or another numerate discipline, or equivalent professional experience
