Join our elite network operations team in Portsmouth, VA, where you'll play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure network infrastructure for mission-critical operations. As a Network Architect with Top Secret clearance, you'll leverage your CCNP expertise to support complex data center environments and ensure the highest levels of network security and performance.

The Network Architect (CCNP) - Top Secret will work within our Network and Systems operations group to support customer networks and devices in a secure data center environment. This role requires deep technical expertise in network architecture, security implementation, and compliance with federal security standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and monitor complex network systems, hardware, and software applications including switches, routers, firewalls, and network appliances.
  • Design and implement data center technologies and routing protocols to optimize network performance and reliability.
  • Execute implementation of DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to ensure compliance with federal security requirements.
  • Analyze network traffic patterns and performance metrics to identify optimization opportunities and potential security threats.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop network architecture solutions that meet operational and security requirements.
  • Work with Windows, Unix, and other server administrators to design, address requirements, troubleshoot issues, and implement changes in a data center environment.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex network issues and coordinate resolution activities across multiple systems.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, procedures, and security implementations.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers and support staff.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Top Secret security clearance.
  • Current CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of demonstrated knowledge and experience in Cisco networks, including design, configuring, installing enterprise network devices and working in a data center environment.
  • Extensive experience with Cisco networking equipment, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Strong knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and network security principles.
  • Proficiency in advanced EIGRP and OSPF routing protocols, as well as switching technologies.
  • Experience implementing DISA STIGs and federal security compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools.
Technical Skills
  • Advanced Cisco networking technologies (Catalyst switches, ASR/ISR routers, ASA firewalls).
  • Network protocols: TCP/IP, VLAN, STP, HSRP/VRRP, QoS.
  • Security technologies: VPN, IDS/IPS, network access control.
  • Data center technologies: Nexus switching, UCS, storage networking.
  • Network monitoring tools: SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark.
  • Configuration management and documentation tools.
  • Troubleshooting methodologies and performance analysis.
  • Federal compliance standards (FISMA, NIST, DISA STIGs).

This position is located in Portsmouth, VA and requires on-site presence due to the classified nature of the work. The successful candidate must be able to maintain a Top-Secret security clearance. We offer a competitive salary range of $115,000 - $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
