We're now looking for an experienced Estimator to join their Commercial team and play a key role in winning and shaping future projects.
The Role
This is a senior, hands-on estimating position where you'll take ownership of pricing structural steel projects from first principles through to tender submission. You'll work closely with another Estimator and the wider Commercial team, balancing multiple tenders while applying strong commercial judgement and technical expertise.
What You'll Be Doing
- Preparing accurate, competitive estimates for structural steel projects
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and scopes to build detailed costings
- Pricing materials, fabrication, erection, and preliminaries
- Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
- Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to secure best-value pricing
- Supporting tender adjudications, clarifications, and post-tender reviews
- Ensuring smooth handovers to commercial and project delivery teams
- Contributing to continuous improvement of estimating systems and benchmarks
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as an Estimator in steel engineering or construction
- Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and installation
- Commercially astute with excellent attention to detail
- Confident working autonomously while collaborating at peer level
- Comfortable managing multiple tenders in a fast-paced environment
- Strong Excel skills and experience with estimating software
Nice to Have
- Experience pricing medium to large structural steel packages
- Background in an SME or high-growth business
- Confidence dealing with senior stakeholders and operational teams
