A leading, well-established Structural Steelwork contractor is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer with a strong background in structural steelwork within the construction sector. This role plays a key part in supporting embedded steelwork during construction, ensuring quality, compliance, and the safe delivery of complex structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to technical queries, non-conformances, and site issues
- Review embedded steelwork for pools, tanks, and associated structures
- Provide technical support to contractors and site quality teams
- Manage design changes, technical queries, and open points
- Identify, monitor, and mitigate structural and construction risks
- Produce structural calculations and technical reports in line with industry standards
- Liaise with clients, architects, and contractors to coordinate and resolve design matters
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations
- Support project teams from concept design through to construction and completion
Skills & Experience
- Degree (or equivalent) in Structural or Civil Engineering
- Proven experience in structural steelwork manufacture or installation
- Background in welding, fabrication, or fabrication engineering
- Strong understanding of structural steel within a live construction environment
- Experience in structural assessment, design review, and technical assurance
- Knowledge of inspection, acceptance, and handover requirements
