Leading refurbishment and passive fire protection company based near Haverhill has an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor. Passive Fire Protection projects across housing, healthcare, education and major commercial frameworks.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will support the Commercial and Operations teams to ensure the successful financial delivery of projects. The role will involve both office-based duties and site visits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Estimators during the tender process, including support with tender negotiations
  • Prepare and analyse project costings for tenders (materials, quantities, labour, time)
  • Negotiate contracts and work schedules
  • Monitor subcontractor payments
  • Manage all matters relating to project costs and valuations
  • Provide cash flow forecasts
  • Monitor site progress against programme and highlight potential issues
  • Identify and manage commercial risks
  • Submit monthly valuations
  • Monitor payments from main contractors
  • Work closely with Operations and Commercial teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Allocate work on site and oversee progress at all stages
  • Advise on procurement strategy and scheduling
  • Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes
  • Analyse project outcomes and produce progress reports
  • Final account agreement

Candidate Requirements

  • HND, BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and industry-related software
  • Full UK driving licence
