We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Design Manager to lead the delivery of high-quality facade and roofing design solutions. This role is pivotal in managing the full design lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered in line with client expectations, regulatory requirements, and programme deadlines. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving innovation, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and influencing project outcomes through strategic planning and effective problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the design process from concept through to project completion, ensuring alignment with client briefs and project objectives.
  • Coordinate closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure effective communication and seamless collaboration.
  • Oversee the use of design tools such as Autodesk software to produce accurate drawings, schedules, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant building codes, standards, and health & safety regulations, in coordination with main contractors.
  • Manage project timelines, prioritising workloads to meet critical deadlines across multiple projects.
  • Review and approve design drawings, specifications, and documentation prior to submission.
  • Identify and mitigate potential design risks early in the process, implementing effective solutions.
  • Mentor and support junior team members, promoting a collaborative and high-performance team environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a Design Management role within cladding and roofing systems.
  • Strong proficiency in CAD software and experience working with BIM technologies.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
