An established and rapidly expanding Groundworks and Civil Engineering contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to strengthen its operational team across the East Midlands region. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality residential infrastructure projects, the company continues to secure repeat business with major developers and is now seeking a commercially aware and operationally focused professional to support ongoing growth.

As Contracts Manager, you will take responsibility for several live residential groundwork schemes simultaneously, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget. You will oversee site teams, coordinate resources, and maintain close communication with clients and senior management throughout the project lifecycle.

Main Duties:
  • Manage multiple residential groundwork and civil engineering projects across the region.
  • Monitor project programmes, budgets, and operational performance.
  • Lead and support Site Managers and operational teams on active developments.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Prepare regular operational and progress reports for senior leadership.
  • Organise labour, plant, and material requirements to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with all health & safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Resolve site and programme issues efficiently to minimise delays and disruption.
Candidate Profile:
  • Demonstrable experience operating as a Contracts Manager within residential groundworks or civil engineering.
  • Valid SMSTS qualification.
  • Strong organisational and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent communication and client‑facing skills.
  • Sound commercial understanding and project planning capability.
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across the East Midlands.
