BMS Engineer

Location: North London
Salary: £25-£30 per hour (negotiable within reason)
Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm

Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced BMS Service Engineer to join our team, working on a variety of contracted customer sites, including PFI Schools, PFI Hospitals, Government Estates, and MOD sites.

Day-to-day duties will include:

  • Installing and configuring BMS components and equipment, including sensors, controllers, actuators, and software systems.

  • Carrying out routine maintenance and servicing of Trend, Tridium, and Distech BMS systems.

  • Diagnosing and repairing faults to ensure systems operate efficiently and reliably.

  • Responding to reactive call-outs as part of a rota (with additional pay for being on call and attending).

  • Providing specialist technical support and advice to clients about their BMS systems.

  • Preparing proposals and providing accurate quotations for additional works as needed.

  • Working closely with site teams to plan and deliver works with minimal disruption.

  • Maintaining detailed records of work carried out and updating system documentation.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • City & Guilds, BTEC, or NVQ in Electrical discipline.

  • Extensive knowledge and experience with BMS/HVAC systems.

  • Hands-on experience with Trend or Tridium Controls; knowledge of Niagara, Distech, or Siemens is desirable.

  • Excellent understanding of the electrical industry and the ability to read and interpret Electrical & Mechanical schematics.

  • Understanding of IT networks.

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD.

  • Full UK driving licence.

  • Relevant controls training and proven experience with fault finding in electrical panels.

  • DBS vetting and potential BPSS vetting may be required.
