We are seeking a highly driven and experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to lead a fast-paced, high-volume warehouse operation supporting over 30 production lines and the global distribution of our products. This role is responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy, maintaining efficient material flow, developing high-performing teams, and driving continuous improvement within a demanding manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Warehouse Operations Management
- Oversee daily warehouse activities including goods-in, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch.
- Ensure uninterrupted supply of raw materials and packaging to support continuous production across multiple lines.
- Manage outbound logistics to achieve on-time customer deliveries.
- Optimise warehouse layout, storage capacity, and operational workflows.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, organisation, and stock accessibility.
- Inventory Control & Stock Accuracy
- Maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials, components, and finished goods.
- Implement and manage cycle-counting and stock audit processes.
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies and root causes.
- Ensure full product traceability, including batch and lot control, shelf-life management, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate closely with Production and Planning teams to ensure material availability.
- Leadership & People Management
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 40+ warehouse personnel, including supervisors and team leaders.
- Establish clear objectives, performance expectations, and accountability.
- Conduct regular one-to-one meetings, performance reviews, and development planning.
- Foster a high-performing, engaged, and accountable team culture.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, talent development, and succession planning.
- Continuous Improvement
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement across warehouse operations.
- Identify and implement initiatives to improve efficiency, productivity, and cost performance.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to eliminate waste and standardise processes.
- Monitor and report operational KPIs to drive performance improvements.
- Lead cross-functional improvement projects across the warehouse and wider supply chain.
- Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Promote and maintain a zero-harm safety culture.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement safe systems of work.
- Ensure adherence to manufacturing and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain audit readiness for internal and external inspections.
- Systems & Process Management
- Manage and optimise Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP platforms.
- Ensure accuracy of operational data and reporting.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Utilise data analysis and reporting to support operational decision-making.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Production, Planning, Procurement, Quality, and Logistics teams.
- Align warehouse operations with production schedules and customer demand.
- Support new product introductions and production scale-up activities.
- Provide regular updates and performance reports to senior leadership.
- Performance & KPI Management
- Own and monitor key warehouse performance indicators including inventory accuracy, OTIF delivery performance, productivity, stock loss and labour efficiency.
- Deliver against departmental budgets and cost targets.
- Provide regular performance reports and actionable insights.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a Warehouse Manager or Operations Manager role within manufacturing.
- Strong background in inventory control and stock accuracy management.
- Experience leading teams of 30–50+ employees.
- Experience in fast-paced, high-volume, multi-SKU operations.
- Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience using WMS and ERP systems.
- Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills.
