Position: Project Manager Location: Near Wells, Somerset Company: Main Contractor Build Type: Conversion Value: £12m We're currently recruiting a Project Manager to join our client, a reputable main contractor. The project is a new site starting near Wells, Somerset, which consists of a £12m refurbishment of an existing building into commercial space. Duties: * Manage the construction programme. * Set clear team goals and manage the team effectively. * Lead by example, upholding high standards in safety, quality, and client management. * Conduct regular site meetings to review safety, progress, quality, and coordination. * Work with the QS to compile risk registers and meet financial targets. * Record and report delays, ensuring timely issue resolution. * Produce accurate financial forecasts and updates. * Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners, fostering open communication. * Anticipate project challenges and provide cost-effective solutions. * Create and monitor contract programmes, ensuring achievable targets. * Plan resources and procurement in collaboration with the QS. * Oversee subcontractor selection and ensure compliance with project requirements. * Maintain up-to-date project records and ensure timely delivery of handover documentation. * Set and enforce high safety and environmental standards in line with company policies. * Develop and implement project-specific HSE plans. * Review and guide subcontractors’ method statements for safe practices. * Conduct regular safety and environmental inspections. * Perform roles such as Temporary Works Coordinator or Supervisor as required. Requirements: * Degree/equivalent qualification or a trade background. * Minimum of 3 years as a Project Manager.
