We’re supporting a successful Main Contractor in their search for an Estimating Manager to lead and develop their estimating function. This is a senior role responsible for overseeing the full tendering process, managing a team of estimators, and producing accurate, competitive bids across a range of projects. You’ll work closely with pre-construction, contracts and senior management to support continued business growth.

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing and mentoring a team of 6 estimators
  • Overseeing the preparation of priced tenders from first principles
  • Producing detailed take-offs, Bills of Quantities and cost build-ups
  • Managing single-stage and two-stage tendering
  • Pricing projects under JCT contracts
  • Managing subcontractor enquiries, comparisons and selections
  • Leading tender reviews and contributing to pre- and post-tender meetings
  • Carrying out site visits and incorporating site conditions into pricing
  • Preparing budgets, cost plans and supporting handovers to delivery teams

About you:

  • Proven experience as an Estimating Manager or Senior Estimator within a main contractor
  • Strong knowledge of JCT contracts
  • Experience managing or leading an estimating team
  • Able to run multiple tenders concurrently and meet strict deadlines
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
