Profession Partners is recruiting on behalf of a highly reputable electronic security specialist who is looking to appoint an experienced Design Lead to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a security design professional with Data Centre experience to take a key role in delivering high-quality electronic and physical security design packages on major projects.
The Role
As Design Lead, you will play a pivotal part in coordinating and delivering security systems design, working closely with BIM/CAD technicians and the wider technical team. You will lead cross-discipline collaboration and ensure all design outputs align with client and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients
- Identify and resolve design issues, offering improvements and solutions
- Produce base “spots and dots” design layouts
- Conduct detailed ironmongery reviews for compliance and accuracy
- Coordinate with architectural and engineering teams, including Telecoms
- Drive project progress by defining timelines, dependencies, and information needs
- Work closely with the BIM Lead/Manager on layouts, measurements, routing, and model details
- Act as the main point of contact for all security-related queries
- Perform drawing reviews, validation, and ensure baseline alignment throughout delivery
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Security Project Engineer within a Data Centre environment
- Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving ability
- Able to work independently and manage time effectively
- Excellent communication skills for cross-team coordination
- CAD knowledge beneficial, ideally with some exposure to Revit
- Strong working knowledge of Excel and Outlook
