We're supporting a successful Main Contractor in their search for an Estimating Manager to lead and develop their estimating function. This is a senior role responsible for overseeing the full tendering process, managing a team of estimators, and producing accurate, competitive bids across a range of projects.
- Managing and mentoring a team of 6 estimators
- Overseeing the preparation of priced tenders from first principles
- Producing detailed take-offs, Bills of Quantities and cost build-ups
- Managing single-stage and two-stage tendering
- Pricing projects under JCT contracts
- Managing subcontractor enquiries, comparisons and selections
- Leading tender reviews and contributing to pre- and post-tender meetings
- Carrying out site visits and incorporating site conditions into pricing
- Preparing budgets, cost plans and supporting handovers to delivery teams
About you
- Proven experience as an Estimating Manager or Senior Estimator within a main contractor
- Strong knowledge of JCT contracts
- Experience managing or leading an estimating team
- Able to run multiple tenders concurrently and meet strict deadlines
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
