Profectus Recruitment are proud to be working with an exciting, well-funded technology start-up as they prepare to launch an innovative AI-powered SaaS platform into the UK market. This is a rare opportunity to join a business at the very beginning of its commercial journey. With a team of around 20 people and founders who have spent the last two decades building and successfully exiting multiple technology businesses, you’ll be joining an organisation with genuine pedigree, ambitious growth plans and an outstanding leadership team.
We’re looking for an ambitious Business Development Representative who wants to accelerate their sales career in a fast-paced start-up environment. This role would be ideal for a graduate with a strong academic background and around 1-2 years’ experience in technology sales, looking for the opportunity to learn directly from experienced founders while playing a key role in building a business from the ground up.
The Role
- Working closely with senior leadership, you’ll help build the company’s UK customer base by identifying opportunities, engaging prospective clients and managing the sales process through to close.
- This is far more than a traditional SDR position. You’ll have the opportunity to influence sales strategy, contribute ideas and make a real impact as one of the first commercial hires.
Key Responsibilities
- Research target markets and build your own sales pipeline
- Generate new business through outbound calls, email, LinkedIn and networking
- Qualify opportunities and arrange product demonstrations
- Manage opportunities throughout the full sales cycle
- Prepare proposals and support commercial negotiations
- Work closely with Marketing on lead generation campaigns
- Develop an expert understanding of the company’s products and market
- Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and CRM
- Consistently achieve and exceed sales targets
What We’re Looking For
- Degree educated
- Around 1-2 years’ experience in technology sales, SaaS sales or business development
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ambitious, driven and highly self-motivated
- Confident building relationships with senior stakeholders
- Commercially minded with a genuine interest in technology
- Organised with strong attention to detail
- Curious, proactive and eager to learn
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving start-up environment
- Willing to work regularly from the company’s London office near Oxford Circus
