Cabling Engineer – Bristol

Location: Bristol

Duration: 6 months

Hours: Monday–Friday, 37.5 hours per week
/n
Rate: Up to £180 per day
/n
IR35: Outside IR35
/n
Working arrangement: Fully onsite – no hybrid working
/n
Clearance: BPSS required
/n
We are looking for an experienced Senior Cabling Engineer to join an installation team delivering network infrastructure works.
/n
Key Responsibilities
/n
/n
- Installation of network cabinets and primary/secondary containment systems.
/n
- Installation and termination of Cat6/Cat6A structured cabling.
/n
- Copper patching and network switch installation.
/n
- Installation, termination and testing of fibre optic cabling, including pit and duct routes.
/n
- Fibre circuit patching and fault finding, including use of OTDR equipment.
/n
- Testing and certification of copper and fibre cabling using Fluke testers.
/n
- Working to RAMS, project installation methods and site H&S requirements.
/n
- Completing QA documentation, daily reports and relevant site paperwork.
/n
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship and keeping work areas safe and tidy.
/n
- Supporting and supervising installation activities where required.
/n

Key Requirements
/n
/n
- Strong commercial experience in structured cabling installations.
/n
- Experience terminating Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A cabling.
/n
- Experience terminating and testing fibre optic cabling.
/n
- Practical experience using Fluke testers and OTDR equipment.
/n
- Good knowledge of current cabling installation practices.
/n
- Experience working in a senior/lead engineering capacity.
/n
- Strong understanding of site H&S, RAMS and risk assessments.
/n
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
/n
- BPSS clearance required.
/n
