Profectus Recruitment is partnering with an established financial services business to recruit an IT Infrastructure Architect.

This opportunity will suit an experienced architect who enjoys understanding business requirements, shaping technical solutions and taking ownership of the decisions that connect the two.

Joining a small architecture function, you will work closely with the IT Solutions Architecture Manager, technology teams and business stakeholders to improve existing services and design infrastructure that supports the organisation’s future requirements.

There is scope to influence technology strategy, strengthen architecture standards and help shape the evolution of cloud and hybrid services.

The role

You will take responsibility for infrastructure solution design, working with technical and non-technical colleagues to ensure proposed services are practical, secure and aligned with business needs.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Translating business requirements into technical specifications and solution designs.
  • Designing and supporting the evolution of cloud-native and hybrid infrastructure.
  • Reviewing proposed solutions through the design authority process.
  • Developing and maintaining architecture principles, technical standards and design documentation.
  • Assessing existing infrastructure and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Evaluating technologies, costs and delivery options to support informed decisions.
  • Working with delivery teams and external suppliers to guide implementation.
  • Incorporating security, resilience and regulatory requirements into solution designs.

About you

You will bring experience owning infrastructure architecture and solution design, alongside the technical depth to assess options and guide delivery.

We are looking for

  • Experience designing or rearchitecting IT services for cloud-native and hybrid environments.
  • The ability to turn stakeholder requirements into clear technical designs.
  • Experience producing architecture documentation, design standards and principles.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with stakeholders across the business.
  • A practical approach to governance and the ability to make considered decisions independently.
  • A strong understanding of security considerations within infrastructure design.

You must hold at least one of the following certifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
  • Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert.

Financial services experience would be advantageous, particularly within an organisation where you have taken broad ownership and worked closely with delivery teams.

Experience with on-premises PBX or contact-centre migrations, Dynamics Customer Service / Insights, or Microsoft 365 endpoint and Teams administration would also be beneficial.

This is an opportunity to take a visible role within a small architecture team and influence how an established financial services business develops its technology services.

If you have experience with tools like AWS, Azure, or even specific programming languages, make sure you can talk about them fluently.

✨Showcase Your Problem-Solving Approach

Before the interview, think of situations where you worked closely with clients to create effective IT strategies or changes.
