As part of our continuing expansion plans, we are seeking an experienced and versatile Lighting Prep Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will also be at home in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and thrive under pressure. Responsibilities include:
- Hands-on preparation of equipment in the lighting department for productions and dry hires, to the highest standard.
- Experience with lighting fixtures: Chauvet, Robe, Ayrton, Generic and Effects (Hazers, Smoke, Canons etc.), as well as knowledge of Avolites and MA Software programming.
- Building and wiring DMX/Data Racks.
- Checking in equipment returned from productions and hires.
- Ensuring all equipment is functional, clean, maintained and well presented to meet Sterling Standards.
- Ensuring workspaces are kept well organised and tidy.
- General service, maintenance, and repair of equipment.
- Loading/unloading of vans and trucks.
- Occasional deliveries/collections and site work.
- Maintain high Health & Safety standards and adhere to company policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Key Attributes of the Candidate:
- High self-motivation, with the ability to lead by example and work as part of a team.
- Hands-on experience with lighting equipment.
- Experience in the events industry.
- Excellent IT and communication skills.
- High standard of personal presentation.
- Ability to problem solve and to work to deadlines.
- Flexibility and a can-do attitude.
- Keen eye for detail and high standards.
- Full UK Driving License and own transport an advantage but not essential.
- Forklift truck license an advantage but not essential.
Training & Progression:
Ongoing training will be provided as required. We are committed to developing our team and supporting career progression within our growing organisation.
Working Hours:
If you have the experience we are looking for then you will already know that this is not a 9 ‘til 5 job. Due to the nature of our industry, we require our employees to have a flexible approach to their working hours. Weekend work will be required. Core hours are 8:30 to 17:30, 5 days per week (Monday to Sunday).
Holidays:
- 33 days per year.
- After 3 years continuous service you will receive your birthday off (day off can be taken within 7 days of your birthday).
- After 5 years continuous service you will receive a further day’s holiday.
