You’ll define architecture, patterns, and design language that weave agentics, artifacts, and structured UI into one coherent product. You’ll lead end-to-end usability and set standards across teams, partnering with Product, Engineering, and the executive team. This is a high-impact, architecture-focused IC role with real decision rights and visible influence on the company’s design direction. /p b Pay / Benefits /b ul li Stock options /li li MacBook + 34 monitor /li li Work from home stipend /li li Flexible working hours and home office /li li Budget for online courses, books, and conferences /li li 2 weeks of fully paid parental leave /li /ul b Responsibilities /b ul li Own UX and interaction architecture including information architecture, navigation, and object model to make Productboard feel like a single product /li li Define interaction patterns for an AI-first product and decide when interfaces should be chat, generated artifacts, interactive UI, or conventional interfaces /li li Standardize design patterns and codify them as product-wide standards to raise the bar across domains /li li Set design direction and language, connect user insight with strategy, and present evidence-based direction to executives /li li Raise end-to-end usability and cross-product coherence, championing consistency and driving fixes across teams /li li Lead design critique, provide architectural guidance to senior designers, and mentor through pairing and coaching /li li Personally carry the hardest design work at platform level including navigation and object-model redesigns, from concept to prototype to shipped product /li li Prototype in code by default to settle debates and align stakeholders using working AI-enabled prototypes /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li 8+ years in product design as a senior IC on complex products /li li Systems thinker with ability to hold product structure in mind while drafting details /li li Proven track record of elevating product usability and coherence /li li Experience designing products where agents perform real work for users, including trust, control, and cold-start challenges /li li AI-first approach with hands-on use of AI tools for research, prototyping, building, and analysis /li li Excellent craft in interaction and visual design with ability to guide others /li li Comfort with setting standards across teams and making principled, evidence-based trade-offs /li li Ability to influence PMs and executives and to shape roadmaps with user insights /li /ul ul li strategic communications /li li cross-functional collaboration /li li low ego /li li AI-first product design /li li interaction design for chat, artifacts, and rich UI /li li design systems and component architecture /li /ul
