On behalf of our client, a highly successful and established global consumer tech and digital services platform, we are seeking an experienced Assistant Management Accountant to join their lean, high‑performing finance team in East London. Operating a thriving digital ecosystem with a massive international user base, this scale‑up has a long track record of growth. The role offers a steep learning curve and a fantastic gateway into a wider management accounts role, giving the successful candidate direct mentorship and support from the Financial Controller.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transaction & Ledger Management: Process multi-currency supplier invoices, execute regular payment runs, and manage multi-currency bank reconciliations via Xero.
  • Digital Revenue Reconciliation: Reconcile global customer receipts and merchant data across a variety of modern digital payment platforms.
  • Month‑End Support: Assist the Financial Controller with month‑end reporting, including schedules of prepayments, accruals, fixed asset registers, and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Financial Reporting: Support the Financial Controller on the preparation of monthly Group Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reports.
  • International Tax & Payroll: Assist with processing monthly payroll alongside the HR team, and support the FC with international digital VAT/tax compliance returns.
  • Audit & Projects: Help prepare for year‑end close ahead of audits, and collaborate closely with the FC on ad‑hoc business‑critical projects.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Background: Prior experience working as a Finance Assistant or Bookkeeper, with a solid basic understanding of financial statements.
  • Technical Skills: Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and hands‑on experience with modern cloud accounting software.
  • Core Competencies: Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively.
  • Travel: Comfortable with occasional, infrequent UK travel to a secondary company hub for team updates and meetings.
