I'm partnering with a highly recognised, community-led digital platform as they search for a Chief Technology & Product Officer (CTPO) to help shape the next chapter of their growth in an AI-first world. This is a rare opportunity to join a profitable, established consumer technology business that operates with the pace, ambition and mindset of a startup. The platform serves millions of monthly users, generates vast volumes of UGC every day and sits on one of the most valuable community datasets in its sector. With AI reshaping both how products are built and how users discover information, the business sees a significant opportunity to transform its operating model, unlock new revenue streams and accelerate product innovation.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll take ownership of both Product and Engineering, leading a PDE team of 15.

The Opportunity:

The business is looking for a hands-on tech leader who has already led AI transformation initiatives and can demonstrate tangible improvements in product delivery, engineering velocity and organisational effectiveness. You'll inherit a successful platform with strong user engagement, significant traffic volumes and an established advertising business. Your challenge will be to modernise how the organisation builds products, embed AI deeply into workflows and identify new growth opportunities powered by one of the richest community datasets in the UK.

Key focus areas include:

  • Driving AI adoption across Product, Engineering and the wider business
  • Reimagining how Product and Engineering work together in an AI-first environment
  • Improving platform scalability, performance and user experience
  • Unlocking value from millions of community interactions and content signals
  • Building new products and services beyond the core platform
  • Exploring opportunities to diversify revenue streams
  • Leading the evolution of a modern, high-performing Product & Engineering organisation

What We're Looking For:

We're looking for a technology-first leader who has evolved into broader product ownership. You'll likely have started your career as a Software Engineer or Computer Scientist before progressing into senior technology leadership roles.

You will have:

  • Experience leading both Engineering and Product organisations
  • A strong software engineering background with deep technical credibility
  • Successfully delivered AI transformation initiatives at scale
  • Experience within high-growth consumer technology businesses
  • Worked on platforms serving millions of users
  • A track record of improving engineering productivity and delivery velocity
  • Experience scaling digital products, marketplaces, community platforms, content businesses or advertising-supported products
  • Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of advertising monetisation models
  • The ability to operate as both strategist and operator

We're particularly interested in leaders who have already redefined how teams work in the age of AI, rather than those still exploring what AI might mean for their organisation.

Ideal Profile:

You are naturally curious about where technology is heading and already have strong views on how AI will reshape product development, engineering and digital businesses. You combine technical depth with product instinct. You know when to build, when not to build, and how to align teams around measurable outcomes rather than outputs. You thrive in environments with minimal bureaucracy, enjoy operating close to decision makers and are energised by solving complex challenges at speed. Most importantly, you're excited by the opportunity to help an established digital platform reinvent itself for the next decade.

Location: London (2 days per week, non-negotiable)

Salary: £150,000–£200,000+ plus package

If you're a technology leader who has successfully navigated AI transformation and wants to play a defining role in the future of a major consumer platform, I'd love to speak with you.
