Join to apply for the Principal Tech Artist role at Product Madness. We are seeking a highly skilled technical artist to help shape the future of our Unity based mobile title. In this role you will be the go‑to expert leading the implementation of visual features, bridging the gap between art and engineering. You will play a key role in evolving the tech art team’s tooling and workflows, demonstrating your deep understanding of the graphics pipeline, mobile optimization, and software development principles.
What You'll Do
- Be the go‑to person for addressing any critical technical art implementation to ensure that asset creation follows accurate guidelines.
- Identify the opportunities for, and create the custom tooling required to empower the technical art team.
- Drive technical solutions to achieve high visual fidelity while balancing the hardware limitations of target mobile platforms.
- Collaborate closely with developers and artists to implement new game features and UI designs.
- Support Junior TAs onboarding and training.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience using Unity.
- Advanced knowledge of the real time graphic pipeline, shader programming and the Unity Engine.
- Extensive experience authoring GLSL shaders in ShaderLab.
- The ability to make targeted optimisations from analysis using profiling and benchmarking tools.
- Strong proficiency in C#, with the ability to create custom components and tools for automation and expanding the capabilities of the Unity UI system.
- An expert understanding of the Unity UI system.
- Solid knowledge of 3D/2D art asset creation software.
- Mobile game development experience is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with Git and modern version control workflows.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a team‑oriented, collaborative attitude.
