We have an opportunity available for a Warehouse Senior Operative for our Night shift at our Warehouse team in Hindley Green, Wigan. The role is a full time, permanent position working 40 hours per week; 09:00pm-06:00am, either Sunday-Thursday or Monday-Friday.

Our Northern distribution centre has capacity to store 12,000 pallets and 10,000 large appliances at this location. Over 150 staff are based at this site including customer engagement advisors, product technical engineers, route planners and our in house graphic design team. It’s also home to our excellent driver training facilities.

Your role will include:

  • Oversee and assist the Warehouse Team with loading goods inwards and outwards of the warehouse using manual handling and/or warehouse machinery.
  • Oversee and assist the transportation of stock around the warehouse as required using warehouse machinery and/or manual handling, to make sure the warehouse space is utilised as effectively as possible.
  • Maintain the highest level of accuracy with regards to counts of warehouse stock, stock inwards and outwards to allow the systems in place to flow effectively.
  • Ensure all members of the warehouse team practice the highest level of Health and Safety in the workplace in order to protect themselves and colleagues.
  • Ensure the packing team are supported as required by the Warehouse Team.
  • Provide strong leadership, mentoring to warehouse operatives and other colleagues within the warehouse team.
  • Undertake miscellaneous tasks as required supporting the effective running of the business.
