We have an opportunity available for a
Junior Transport Planner to assist with daily route planning and vehicle scheduling activities.
You will join our Fleet team in Hindley Green, Wigan on a full time, permanent basis; working 35 hours per week Monday-Friday.

Key Responsibilities of our Junior Transport Planner include;
- Assist with daily route planning and vehicle scheduling activities.
- Support the optimisation of routes to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
- Control booking capacity for all sites, ensuring we are compliant with lead time SLAs
- Liaise with customer service, warehouse, and operational teams to ensure smooth delivery execution.
- Ensure compliance with transport legislation, driver hours regulations and company policies.
- Produce daily vehicle utilisation reports for key stakeholders
- Provide administrative support to the transport planning team.
About You
- Previous route/transport planning experience of at least 12-months is desirable although on the job training will be provided
- Previous administrative experience is essential
- Good knowledge of Microsoft packages (Excel, Word and Outlook)
- 5x GCSE’s (English and Maths included)
- Possess good attention to detail and have the ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload
- You should be reliable, trust worthy and a good team player
- A degree level candidate is desirable but non-graduates with specific jobs skills, personal attributes and working experience in transport planning will also be considered.
