We have an opportunity available for a Maintenance Operative to join our team in Northampton. We have two sites in Northampton; Weedon Bec where you will be primarily based and Nether Heyford where you will also be frequently required. It is therefore essential you are a driver with access to your own vehicle. The role is a full time, permanent position working 35 hours per week Monday – Friday; 8:00am-4:00pm.
Responsibilities:
- Perform a wide variety of general and semi-skilled maintenance activities (e.g. joinery, plumbing, painting, basic electrical work, gardening etc.) for the purpose of completing projects within established time frames.
- Assemble, dismantle and repair office furniture as required.
- Replace faulty or damaged equipment, fixings and fittings.
- Install and un-install appliances when required.
- Obtain estimates for supplies, parts and ordering of supplies and parts as requested by the Head of Facilities.
- Complete weekly and monthly checklists on building equipment, maintenance procedures and to maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
- Communicate any significant or recurring faults identified with testing equipment, fixings and fittings to the Head of Facilities.
- Assist in unforeseen emergency breakdowns that may occur during working and after hours.
- Help maintain the warehouse and external yard in a clean, tidy and workable manner.
- Help maintain the office cleaning duties and participate in the recycling duties when required.

Requirements:
- Full Driving Licence with your own transport.
- Broad general maintenance knowledge is essential.
- Previous experience in electrical/plumbing/construction industry is desirable.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills.
- GCSE’s including English and Maths.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Awareness of health and safety regulations.
- A strong team player who is trustworthy and hard working.
- Reliable and able to use initiative.
