We are looking for Warehouse Operative to join our new Birmingham-based Car Build facility. You will be responsible for supporting the efficient movement, storage, and distribution of automotive parts and materials within the warehouse. This role requires a valid forklift licence and the ability to operate material handling equipment safely and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts, pallet trucks, and other material handling equipment to move, load, and unload automotive parts
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods against delivery documentation
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for production lines or outbound shipments
- Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Store materials in designated locations following stock rotation and safety guidelines
- Conduct routine equipment checks and report any faults or safety concerns
- Assist with cycle counts, stock audits, and inventory reconciliation
- Keep work areas clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency
Who are we looking for?
- Valid forklift licence (counterbalance and/or reach truck preferred)
- Previous experience in warehouse or logistics operations, ideally within automotive or manufacturing
- Ability to understand delivery notes, pick lists, and inventory documentation
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with warehouse systems
- Ability to lift, move, and handle materials safely
- Organised, safety minded, and capable of working in a fast paced environment where accuracy and reliability are essential
- Flexible approach to work, including overtime when required
