Supporting customers in various sectors from Marine, Defence, AgriTech to a core business around Motorsport & Automotive, supplying multiple high level racing series and high specification automotive style projects.
Based in Newport, Shropshire, HCI Systems Limited have grown rapidly in recent years to become leaders in vehicle electrical systems and wiring harnesses. The company has an enviable reputation based on high quality wiring harness design and manufacture for low voltage and electric vehicles as well as providing complimentary technologies such as power management systems, switch panels and bespoke electronics systems working to customer specifications.
Due to the continued success of the business both in established and new market places, we are looking to recruit a Quality Test & Inspection Technician (T&I) to join the team and further assist us in our growth plans. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the operation of our dedicated T&I department.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Test product manufactured using automated function test equipment (CIRRIS CH2) as required.
- Operate to our internal schedule of work providing: Visual and dimensional inspection of all product manufactured at preliminary and final stages, recording results in accordance with customer and/or HCI-S requirements.
- Interact with other internal departments to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Oversee day by day operation of the test and inspection area, finding suitable solutions to ensure efficient and timely achievement of the internal schedule.
- Manage the inventory of test and measurement equipment.
- Ensure calibration of key equipment is maintained.
- Interact or lead on internal and external customer identified concerns, using industry recognised techniques.
- Undertake continuous training and development.
- Ability to conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks.
- Consistently promote high standards through personal example.
- Collaborate in the development and enhancement of HCI Systems' Code of Practice (COP).
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) through inspecting first-off harnesses as needed.
- Actively engage in continuous improvement projects, proactively identifying opportunities for process enhancement.
- Support the Quality Manager in training initiatives when requested.
- Facilitate Concessions and Modifications.
- Support 5S Implementation.
Who are we looking for?
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role, ideally within Electrical manufacturing with manufacturing harnessing knowledge and Cirris CH2 experience.
- Able to read engineering drawings.
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
- Able to prioritise, manage own workload and work to specific deadlines.
