We have an exciting opportunity for a Rally Engineer to join the Rally Raid team, ensuring that the engineering of the team's event cars is consistent with best practices, as agreed with the Chief Rally Engineer, and consistent with achieving the team's individual event and overall technical targets with regards to performance & reliability. This role requires international travel to test and rally events within the World Rally Raid Championship.
Key Responsibilities- Rally Engineer for one of the team cars/drivers.
- Car specification for events and pre-event testing in accordance with guidelines set by Chief Rally Engineer and Chief Designer.
- Ensure that the car commences each event, and is maintained throughout, with the optimum technical specification to maximise performance.
- Ensure good communication with the crew regarding all aspects of car specification, event requirements, and strategy.
- Prepare and publish rally documentation (including but not restricted to build specs and rally reports) in adequate time to enable all parties to be fully informed of their commitments.
- Review event conditions on an ongoing basis, and brief relevant team members and driver as necessary.
- Prompt publication of accurate and detailed Engineering documents before (build specs, etc.) and after each event and pre-event test (general and performance reports, etc.).
- Ensure that the car complies with current technical regulations.
- Manage and report on post event debriefs with drivers.
- Analyse car data in conjunction with Performance Analysis Engineers and communicate the findings to the relevant person(s) within the team.
- Detailed, accurate and professional reporting of technical issues utilising the PICR process as required. Also, prompt attention to PICRs according to their priority.
Our ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Mechanical or Automotive Engineering), with experience in a similar engineering role for a manufacturer team in the WRC/Rally Raid. You will ideally have experience of WRC design and development work and/or management of the WRC design process. A can-do approach and positive and flexible attitude is essential, along with a commitment to achieving the best solutions for our team.
