We're seeking a talented and motivated Graduate/Junior Electrical Design Engineer to join our team of engineers developing and supporting electrical & electronic solutions used on our race, rally and road projects. This is a combined role with aspects of core electrical engineering design and 3D CAD.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the design of electrical and electronic installations for Prodrive's products in 3D MCAD (Siemens NX), working cooperatively with Electrical, Chassis and Powertrain design groups to integrate the electrical design into the physical medium.
- Assist with Zuken E3 component database, harness schematics and manufacturing drawings.
- Produce documentation (internal and customer facing) to assist with electrical installations.
- Release parts and assembly structures onto bill of materials.
- Liaise with other departments and customers to support the build and testing of parts, systems, and vehicles.
- Support onsite car build with troubleshooting of electrical and electronic issues, working through problems methodically.
- An engineer with a background in CAD and electrical systems design.
- Bachelor's or equivalent in Motorsport or Electronic Engineering or another relevant degree.
- Understanding of automotive or motorsport electrical systems.
- Understanding of relevant communication protocols such as CAN, LIN & Ethernet.
- Fluent in the use of computers and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Zuken E3 (or other ECAD packages) and Siemens NX (or other MCAD packages) are advantageous.
- Ability to operate both independently and in a collaborative, team environment.
- Ability to work effectively and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel and support cars on events or tests. This is not a travelling position, but some travelling may be expected.
