HCI Systems, established in 2012 and now part of the Prodrive group, is one of the leading providers of high-quality electrical wiring solutions. Supporting customers in various sectors from Marine, Defence, AgriTech to a core business around Motorsport & Automotive, supplying multiple high level racing series and high specification automotive style projects. Based in Newport, Shropshire, HCI Systems Limited have grown rapidly in recent years to become leaders in vehicle electrical systems and wiring harnesses. The company has an enviable reputation based on high quality wiring harness design and manufacture for low voltage and electric vehicles as well as providing complimentary technologies such as power management systems, switch panels and bespoke electronics systems working to customer specifications. Due to the continued success of the business both in established and new market places, HCI Systems are looking to recruit a Business Development Representative to join the management team and further assist the company in its growth plans. The successful candidate will take responsibility for supporting the broader business developing and marketing function, interfacing with all the relevant departments and collaborating with current and potential customers.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Proactively reach out to identified prospects through various channels, introducing HCI to new customers and projects.
- Accurately forecast potential sales opportunities and present this on the combined sales pipeline, working closely with customer project owners and internal stakeholders at HCI to track and implement effective strategies for converting leads into sales.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers to maximize sales opportunities.
- Working with the projects team at HCI as the point of contact for key accounts, addressing inquiries, providing technical expertise, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the sales process.
- Manage the sales process from initial contact through to order placement, ensuring seamless handover to projects team and continued support throughout project duration as required.
- Working with internal teams to review and agree HCI and customer T's & C's.
- Ensure that the future opportunities and pipeline aligns with the overall business plans and goals.
- Weekly / monthly data analysis and reporting to key stakeholders in the business to demonstrate progress against KPIs and other relevant metrics.
- Leverage current HCI opportunities and memberships, such as MAKE UK Defence, MIA or Shropshire chambre business development events.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or a related field; technical degree preferred or equivalent industry experience.
- Demonstrable experience in business development, sales, or lead generation marketing roles within relevant industries; experience in business development within the automotive, motorsport, or related high-performance vehicle industries preferred.
- Strong technical understanding of electrical systems and wiring harnesses preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex sales processes and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and credibility with customers at all levels.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to analyse data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights.
