We have an exciting opportunity for a Clothing Designer to join the Production team.
You will support the Head of Product and Head of Design in developing designs for clothing and accessory products for various markets and brands, and develop design templates and systems to improve the support process to production and sales.
Interpret brand guidelines and translate them into relevant design concepts, considering product types, ranges, colours, and logo usage.
Collaborate with the production team to assess product needs for different markets and brands.
Liaise with clients to clarify design ideas and provide creative solutions.
Prepare detailed product specifications and artwork for factory production.
Review factory samples and provide clear, actionable feedback on revisions regarding colour, fabric, fit, and branding.
Maintain clear communication with international suppliers to ensure design accuracy and production standards.
Research market trends in clothing and accessories, including fabric innovations and branding techniques.
Produce high quality visuals in variety of paper and electronic media.
Attend design and supplier meetings when required.
Create and distribute artwork and assets for internal departments.
Manage digital files, ensuring all design ideas, client feedback, and product development stages are well-documented and organized.
Develop new product ideas through creative thinking.
Stay ahead of fashion and retail trends to inform new product and range development.
Work closely with product developers to align design ideas with production capabilities.
Apply feedback constructively to refine designs and achieve project goals.
Apply exceptional attention to detail throughout the design and development process.
Our ideal candidate will have a degree or diploma in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field, and bring proven experience in clothing and accessory design, ideally within a commercial environment.
You will demonstrate a strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, as well as strong technical drawing and illustration skills.
You will have an excellent understanding of garment construction, materials, and print processes, with a keen awareness of global fashion trends and retail brands.
You will be a clear communicator who thrives in fast-paced environments, balancing multiple projects with strong collaboration, organisation, and adaptability.
