At Prodrive we believe there's no limit to what can be achieved when the brightest minds come together. Joining one focused and driven team, you will challenge boundaries in order to change the game for our customers. We are the world's leading independent motorsport company and the business behind some of the greatest names and achievements in motorsport over the last 40 years. Our skilled Technicians, Mechanics, Fabricators and Engineers work together every step of the way to design, build and run elite competition cars on the track and off-road across the globe.
Winning profitably is a finely balanced and complex affair and pivotal to our ongoing success is our commercial team. Negotiating and winning contracts requires complex commercial discussions that we then turn into legally binding agreements with partners around the world. As our Commercial and Legal Executive, you will work with our experienced commercial team to initially support and ultimately take ownership of our client contracts with vehicle manufacturers, sales, sponsorship and race driver agreements and more basic arrangements such as NDAs, ensuring they are correct, legally documented and aligned with our business goals.
A strong problem solver and communicator, your attention to detail, diligence and analytical mind will quickly establish credibility with your technical internal stakeholders ensuring risks, challenges and opportunities are identified and exploited. You'll combine your legal and business education, training and experience with your healthy interest in the contractual and commercial side of reviewing, managing and drafting contracts, non-disclosure agreements and other specialised agreements on behalf of our businesses.
Key responsibilities- Ensure agreements made with clients, drivers, partners and sponsors are appropriately and legally documented.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for the Prodrive Group's contracting process including the development and maintenance of templates.
- Implementation of an efficient renewals process and a monitoring regime for existing contracts to ensure contractual obligations are being met by both parties.
- Liaison with external legal counsel in developing robust and enforceable agreements.
- Administrative support to commercial negotiations and tracking of contract completion.
- Provide commercial advice to colleagues on contractual matters and risk management.
Who are we looking for? Our ideal candidate will have a law degree or base law qualification with a passion for motorsport and an interest in working in business rather than in the legal profession. Previous experience within a commercially focused team, particularly in a sporting environment, would be advantageous though not essential. You will have strong written and verbal communication skills and an ability to distil complex issues into clear advice from which advantageous decisions can be made. Highly numerate with strong commercial awareness, you will enjoy working in a fast-paced and action orientated culture.
What can we offer you?- An attractive salary which will grow in line with your ongoing development and impact
- 25 days holiday (which increases with long service) with an opportunity to purchase up to 15 extra days
- Training opportunities for continuing professional development
- Onsite subsidised staff restaurant
- Car and pension salary sacrifice schemes
- Cyclescheme
- Exercise classes
- Paid time off for volunteering
- Consultations with our Fit 4 Life expert
- Social events throughout the year
