About the Company
Our client is a growing industrial manufacturing business operating within a sustainability-led and environmentally responsible model. The organization transforms recycled materials into high-quality industrial products, supplying a broad B2B customer base. With strong growth ambitions and continuous investment in operations and systems, the business is evolving its supply chain capabilities to support increasing demand and future vertical integration into material processing. The culture is collaborative, hands-on, and pragmatic—leaders are expected to be visible, close to operations, and actively involved in driving performance and improvement.
About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Supply Chain Director to join the Senior Leadership Team and take ownership of Logistics, Procurement, Demand and S&OP Planning functions. Reporting to the Managing Director, this role is focused on translating business strategy into effective, day-to-day execution across the supply chain. The position requires a leader who is comfortable operating at both tactical and strategic levels, with a strong emphasis on implementation and delivery. This is not a purely strategic role—success will come from being close to the operation, working directly with teams, and driving structured, data-led decision-making. A key focus area will be strengthening Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes, improving demand visibility, and aligning supply chain activities with ongoing business growth.
Working Model & Culture
- Highly operational environment requiring close engagement with teams and site activities; primarily on-site role with some flexibility if needed.
- Limited travel (typically 1–2 international trips per year).
- Collaborative leadership culture with direct access to decision-makers.
Career Level
Open to both experienced Supply Chain Directors and Managers ready to step up into a broader leadership role.
Key Responsibilities
- Supply Chain Leadership & Execution
- Lead and coordinate end-to-end supply chain activities across logistics, procurement, planning, and customer service.
- Translate business objectives into clear operational plans and ensure consistent execution.
- Drive a structured, process-driven approach to managing supply chain performance.
- Demand Planning & S&OP (Critical Focus Area)
- Own and evolve the Sales & Operations Planning process, ensuring alignment between demand, production, and supply.
- Work closely with Sales and Operations to create accurate forward-looking demand plans.
- Identify risks, constraints, and bottlenecks proactively and implement solutions.
- Ensure optimal balance between service levels, inventory, and working capital.
- ERP & Systems Transition
- Support the transition from legacy systems to a new ERP platform (ProAlpha).
- Drive adoption within the supply chain function, ensuring data accuracy and process alignment.
- Leverage systems to improve visibility, planning accuracy, and decision-making.
- Logistics & Operations Interface
- Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring efficient material flow and delivery performance.
- Manage site-related logistics activities, including warehouse coordination and transport planning.
- Collaborate closely with Operations to ensure seamless production support.
- Procurement & Supply Base Development
- Oversee procurement strategy and supplier relationships, with a focus on reliability and cost control.
- Strengthen supply chain resilience and support future plans for backward integration into material processing.
- Work closely with internal specialists on raw material sourcing.
- Customer Service & Fulfilment
- Ensure high levels of customer service through effective order fulfilment and communication.
- Proactively manage delivery expectations and resolve issues.
- People Leadership
- Lead a team of approximately 5–6 direct reports across logistics, procurement, planning, and customer service.
- Develop team capability, structure, and performance.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration across Sales and Operations.
Requirements
- Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related discipline (preferred).
