We are looking for a Bureau Data Analyst to play a key role in turning complex energy data into clear, meaningful insight for public sector customers. This is an opportunity to make a real impact through hands-on analysis, customer engagement and high-quality reporting. This role would suit a data analyst or reporting professional who is looking to build their expertise in the energy sector. Full training is provided, making this an excellent opportunity to develop sector knowledge alongside strong analytical and customer-facing skills.

The Bureau Data Analyst helps public sector customers understand and manage their energy consumption, costs and carbon emissions through accurate, reliable and customer-friendly reporting. This is a role where curiosity, attention to detail and clear communication are essential, with responsibility for managing complete datasets, questioning anomalies and continuously improving how insights are delivered to customers.
What you’ll be doing
- Managing complete energy datasets for an allocated portfolio of customers.
- Analysing energy data to identify trends, anomalies and areas of concern.
- Producing clear, customer-friendly reports that support informed decision making.
- Working with systems such as Monitoring and Targeting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Attending customer meetings and providing insight, support and guidance.
- Carrying out quality assurance checks to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Raising and resolving data queries with customers and suppliers.
- Working closely with Data Quality Analysts and wider internal teams.
- Identifying opportunities to improve reporting processes and ways of working.
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience working with data, analysis or reporting in any sector.
- An understanding of the energy industry or a strong interest in learning it.
- Intermediate Excel skills and confidence using Microsoft Office packages.
- Strong analytical thinking with an inquisitive and precise approach.
- The ability to explain data and insights clearly to customers and stakeholders.
- Experience working to deadlines and managing multiple priorities.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Willingness to travel to Kings Hill, West Malling for in-person meetings and events.
