The Procurement Head's Industrial team is working with a leading wholesale manufacturer business to hire a Strategic Buyer reporting directly into the Head of Procurement. Currently a c£30million turnover business that has been established for over 30 years with ongoing growth and success, and now embarking on an even more impressive growth journey.

The Senior Buyer will be the right hand person in driving the implementation of the vision and strategy of the Head of Procurement during this exciting high growth journey. You can expect hands on exposure across a number of exciting projects, offering you plenty of scope to make an impact and progress your career. You'll work on a hybrid basis, spending 3/4 days a week in the High Wycombe office and the rest working from home. Some overseas work with Far East supplier base.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
  • This position requires a deep understanding of the supply chain and the ability to develop strong relationships with Far East suppliers, ensuring their capability and identifying areas to mitigate risk such as implementing dual sourcing.
  • This role will suit a commercially astute procurement professional with experience in international sourcing & supplier relationship management (India & China being key locations), risk management and strategic procurement processes.
  • Core spend areas across brackets, bolts, locks, timber, concrete, metals.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of correct, quality materials at competitive prices.
  • Previous experience improving working partnership with Far East suppliers and sub contractors.
  • Interrogate supply chains, identify and mitigate risk.
  • Sourcing, evaluating, and selecting suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness to ensure the best value for the company.
  • Continuously monitoring and evaluating supplier performance, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and developing sourcing strategies that support their needs.
  • Monitoring and analysing market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Managing and maintaining accurate procurement records and data.
  • Elevating the strategic thinking of the team around you.
