Procurement Head's Industrial team is delighted to be partnered with a leading player in the packaging and supply chain solutions industry. You will be able to be based in the Northamptonshire office on a hybrid working basis of 2-3 days a week in office and the rest home working. This is an exceptional organisation, well respected and going from further strength to strength. You will be part of an extensive procurement team and report into a forward thinking Head of Procurement with an eye on continuous improvement throughout the global supply chain. As Packaging Buyer, your key responsibilities will be: As Packing Buyer, you will play a pivotal role in driving the company’s profitability by building strong supplier relationships and delivering innovative, cost-effective solutions for the customers. You will focus on providing exceptional service and quality while ensuring the best possible pricing. * Sourcing and Supplier Management: * Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for packaging and fulfilment equipment. * Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, favourable terms, and consistent quality. * Negotiate high-value contracts with international suppliers across various Incoterms. * Monitor and analyse market trends and consumer insights to identify opportunities for new products and cost reductions. * Category and Market Analysis: * Analyse data to assess industry and customer trends, translating findings into actionable sourcing briefs. * Lead category management projects to optimize product ranges and sourcing strategies. * Develop exit strategies for underperforming products while maintaining overall category profitability. * Operational Excellence: * Collaborate with the sales team to provide quick, effective solutions to customer challenges. * Ensure efficient prioritisation of internal and customer work demands. * Drive continuous cost reduction initiatives and deliver long-term value through strategic sourcing. Qualifications and Experience: * * Minimum 4 years’ experience in a sourcing or buying role, preferably in the packaging, retail, or FMCG sectors. * Comprehensive knowledge of category management, sales, and marketing principles. * Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain dynamics and product cost structures. * Ideally experience in sourcing packaging materials and fulfilment equipment. * Familiarity with international trade and Incoterms.
